Share the Character, Keep the Conversation Private: ReBot AI
Sharing an AI character does not mean sharing your chats. Discover how ReBot AI separates public creations from private, on-device conversations.
You create an AI character, give it a personality, and publish it for others to enjoy. But what happens to the conversations you have with that character?
In ReBot AI, sharing a character and sharing a conversation are separate actions. You can make your creative idea available to others while keeping your own chat history on your phone.
One Character, Separate Conversations
Imagine creating a patient language teacher in Character Universe. You describe how the teacher should explain things, choose its appearance, and publish the scenario.
Other users can discover that teacher and open it in ReBot. They start their own interactions with the character. Publishing the teacher does not publish your practice sessions, questions, or previous conversations.
The same distinction applies to a fictional companion, a mystery game, or a role-play scene. People can share the starting idea without sharing their personal experience of it.
What You Publish Is the Experience You Created
A published character or scenario gives other users a way to open your creation in the app. Its public page introduces the experience through the information intended for publication.
Your private conversation history is not automatically added to that page. Creating a public scenario does not turn your chats into a public discussion thread.
This lets you make something for others while retaining a personal space to use it yourself.
You Can Experiment Before You Share
Not every character needs to be published. You may want to try different personalities, adjust a learning scenario, or explore a story simply for your own enjoyment.
ReBot lets you keep those experiments private. Your saved conversation history remains on your device rather than being stored in a ReBot server-side chat archive.
If you later decide to share a creation by link or publish it in Character Universe, that is a choice you make.
Your Creation Can Stand on Its Own
Public creator attribution uses an identifier rather than requiring your real name to appear. Other users can discover your character without your personal identity becoming its public label.
You still choose what to write in the public title and description. Those fields are part of what you share, so you can focus them on the character, setting, and experience.
How AI Processing Fits into Privacy
When a conversation needs an AI-generated response, ReBot sends the question and relevant context to a provider such as GPT or Gemini without attaching your name or a personal identity profile.
The provider receives the content needed to answer. If you include identifying details in your message, those details remain part of the submitted text. External providers process requests under their own data policies.
This processing is separate from publishing: asking an AI character a question does not make that question visible on the ReBot website.
Create for Others, Keep a Space for Yourself
Creativity and privacy can work together. You can publish a character that others enjoy, keep your own conversations on your phone, and decide separately whether any conversation is worth sharing.
